Will Dakota is a singer/songwriter from Bismarck, North Dakota. When Will is not writing songs he spends time giving back, having headlined several fundraising events including Toys for Tots in 2018 at the Belle Mehus Auditorium in Bismarck, North Dakota and Hope Song at CHIPSA in February 2019 in Tijuana, Mexico where he spent two weeks performing for cancer patients.
In March 2020 Will performed a livestream show via Facebook for The Community Foundation for Middle TN Tornado Relief, in order to raise money for efforts supporting the communities in Tennessee that were struck by the tornado outbreak in early March.
Will has been writing songs and performing them since his teenage years, and he lives for the experiences that music brings to his life: the joy of meeting people and fans along the way and the excitement of traveling to new places.
In March 2019 Will had the opportunity to participate in a writer's round at the songwriters festival “Tin Pan South” in Nashville, Tennessee. During this round he was able to share his music with industry legend Jim Peterik. The true highlight of the festival for Will was when he got to play alongside Peterik on stage to the latter’s most famous hit “Eye of the Tiger,” a memory Will was able to share with his father and cherish forever.
The opportunity to collaborate with Peterik led to the birth of the song “My Kinda Big Time” on Will’s latest album, and has inspired the young singer/songwriter to continue on his journey of sharing his music and talent with the world.
When asked what he enjoys the most about music, Will says that he loves everything there is to love about music: how it heals, how it can make you feel what you want to feel, but most importantly how it can make you feel whatever it is that you may need to.
“I have never been more sure of anything in my life except for music.” - Will Dakota
